Bring the classroom to life at With the Wild CIC.
Nestled in the foothills of Exmoor, Higher Barn Farm serves as a living laboratory where students can explore the future of food, climate resilience, and biodiversity.
Thanks to Countryside Stewardship and Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) Grants, we are proud to offer unique, fully funded educational visits for schools, educational settings and home schooling/ alternative education groups. This means high-quality, hands-on learning at no cost to your school/group budget.
Fully risk assessed and CEVAS certified, our visits are carefully mapped to the National Curriculum (KS1–KS4), providing practical applications for Science, Geography, and PSHE. Whether studying ecosystems, food provenance, or climate change, students gain a deep, tactile understanding of:
• Agroforestry in Action: Discovering how trees and crops work together to heal the soil.
• Permaculture Workshops: Understanding design principles inspired by nature.
• Wildlife & Biodiversity: Identifying local species in our thriving hedgerows and meadows.
• Farm-to-Fork Journeys: Real-world insights into sustainable food production.
No two schools or geo are the same. We collaborate closely with you to tailor the day to your current unit of study, ensuring your students leave inspired, empowered, and connected to the land.
