About us

Our work is rooted in biodiversity, soil health, and careful stewardship of the land.

Set in the eastern foothills of Exmoor, we are a small, regenerative market garden growing seasonal vegetables for our local community.

Our vegetables are shared through weekly veg boxes and supplied to local shops, cafés and restaurants — keeping food miles low and connections strong.

The farm is run by With The Wild CIC, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and educational growing model, supported by volunteers and creating training and employment opportunities for young people within Exmoor National Park.

We are currently in organic conversion, farming without artificial fertilisers or chemicals, and building fertility naturally through diverse crop rotations and herbal leys. Areas of the farm are always resting in soil-building mixes of clover and deep-rooting plants that nourish the earth, support pollinators, and strengthen the resilience of the whole system. We make compost from meadow cuttings and ramial woodchip, returning nutrients to the soil and closing the loop wherever we can.

We believe good farming works with nature, producing food that is seasonal, nutrient-dense, and full of flavour.

Wildflower meadows surround our vegetable beds, creating habitat for insects, birds, and beneficial species.

Education is also at the heart of what we do. We welcome local schools, colleges, and other educational groups to the farm, sharing practical knowledge about soil health, biodiversity, regenerative growing, and sustainable food systems. By opening the gates and sharing our learning, we hope to inspire the next generation of growers, land stewards, and conscious food citizens.

This is farming led by biodiversity and care — for the soil, the landscape, and the people we grow for.

We’re glad you’ve found us.

Meet the Growers

Our growing team this year is made up of Amer, Hope, and Ella, who joins us on student placement from Bicton College. We are united by a shared passion for increasing biodiversity, building healthy soils, and growing truly delicious vegetables for our local community.

We are now in our second year of running the market garden — a pivotal stage where roots are deepening, systems are strengthening, and our vision is becoming clearer. By year three, we hope to be fully covering our costs and moving towards long-term financial resilience. For now, as a Community Interest Company (CIC), we rely on funding support and the generous help of volunteers. Amer works with us as a full-time volunteer, bringing huge dedication and heart to the project.

Running a market garden in today’s climate is both financially challenging and shaped by ever-changing weather patterns. Yet through all the uncertainties, we remain committed to producing nourishing, flavour-filled food while building a vibrant, community-focused growing space. And we try to have as much fun as possible along the way — because growing food should feed the spirit as much as the soil
