WHAT’S IN SEASON

SPRING

(April – May)


Spring brings the first fresh, vibrant harvests after winter.

These are light, tender vegetables packed with flavour.

Boxes are lighter at this time of year but full of freshness and colour.

You can expect:


  • Fresh salad leaves (lettuce, rocket, mustards)
  • Spinach and chard
  • Spring onions
  • Radish
  • Early carrots (bunching)
  • Beetroot (young and tender)
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, coriander, chives)

EARLY SUMMER

(June – July)


As the days lengthen, the range and quantity of vegetables increases quickly. This is when veg boxes begin to feel more abundant and varied.

You can expect:


  • Courgettes
  • Peas and broad beans
  • Carrots
  • Beetroot
  • Lettuce and salad mixes
  • Spring onions
  • Fresh herbs
  • Early potatoes
  • Soft Fruits




LATE SUMMER

(August – September)


This is the peak of the growing season — full, colourful, and diverse. This is often the most generous and varied time of year for veg boxes.

You can expect:


  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Peppers
  • Aubergines
  • French and runner beans
  • Courgettes
  • Sweetcorn
  • Carrots and beetroot
  • Salad leaves
  • Orchard Apples

AUTUMN

(October – November)


As the weather cools, the harvest shifts towards heartier, more substantial vegetables. Perfect for roasting, soups, and warming meals.

You can expect:


  • Squash and pumpkins
  • Carrots
  • Beetroot
  • Parsnips
  • Leeks
  • Kale
  • Cabbage
  • Chard
  • Spinach
  • Onions




WINTER

(December – February)


Winter brings hardy field crops and carefully stored vegetables. Boxes are simpler but still full of nourishing, seasonal produce.

You can expect:

  • Kale
  • Cabbage
  • Leeks
  • Carrots
  • Parsnips
  • Swede and turnips
  • Potatoes
  • Onions
  • Winter salads (from our polytunnels)
  • Spinach
