Community Consultation for "The Hive" at Higher Barn Farm
We're turning our agricultural barn into "The Hive," a new space for our community, and we want to hear from you!
We held our community consultation on Thursday, 14th November at Roadwater Village Hall. Thank you to everyone who came by to see the plans, ask questions, and share thoughts.
We had some brilliant feedback. Click the link below to add yours!
Kids Summer Workshops
Under the guidance of experienced and passionate children's practitioner Elsie and forest school leader Josh of Sisters in Green, kids are encouraged to embrace their wild sides, explore nature, learn about wildlife & have a blast outdoors.
These exciting farm based workshops invite young explorers to safely roam in a creative and playful way. Activities include story trails and nature crafts as well as hands-on learning experiences including bushcraft, campfire cooking and tool use. It's the perfect opportunity for little ones to connect with the wild and make new friends.
The sessions cater for children aged 5 to 11 and are carefully planned to help children develop new skills in a structured yet exciting environment. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and learn new skills alongside others. We're excited to have them back for a third year running in 2026
Community Feasts
Summer 2026
In Summer 2026 we will be hosting our first Community Feasts in the Field at Higher Barn Farm. Guests will be invited to enjoy a delicious and nutritious dining experience in a beautiful natural setting within our agroforestry market garden in the foothills of Exmoor National Park. Offerings will include a thoughtful selection of seasonal dishes showcasing fresh produce from the farm, along with other locally and ethically sourced products that highlight the best of our area. Curated by Amer, classically trained chef and now lead farmer and co-founder of With the Wild CIC, the menus will reflect his extensive culinary experience while blending his dual passions for nutritious cooking and ecological growing. We hope you’ll join us for an evening of nourishing food, interesting conversation, and the beauty of nature.
